Joinone of our groups on an exhilarating 4week travel & volunteer adventure through the Rainbow Nation of SouthAfrica. Famed for its rich abundance of wildlife and home to Cape Town andthe Garden Route, your trip combines discovering this beautiful country withsupporting local projects there.

Youradventure begins by exploring the iconic city of Cape Town before heading to small town of Oudtshoorn to work on an incrediblymeaningful community volunteer project bringing some well needed joy to thelives of the local children there. Next you will take a road trip along theGarden Route with its amazing landscapes and plethora of optional adrenalinefuelled activities to try, ending at one of the largest Game Reserves in Africawhere you will assist the local staff and get up close to the wildlifeincluding the Big Five – Lion, Leopard,Rhinoceros, Elephant & Buffalo!

Week 1: Welcome to Africa

Your adventure starts in the Mother City – Cape Town. Meet your  leaders and the rest of your group at the airport and get ready for an  action-packed week in one of the world’s most iconic destinations. Hike up to  the top of Table Mountain and see a stunning panorama of the city. From Cape  Town, begin your travels east towards Oudsthoorn for your first volunteerproject, at a daycare centre.

Week 2: Community Volunteering

Volunteering continues as you draw on all your resources to create  a positive and lasting impact on the children who attend the centre. Whether  you are a practiced sportsperson, musician, linguist or artist, your  involvement at the centre makes a real difference. Volunteers walk away with a  truly memorable and life changing experience. Outside of volunteering, this week is additionally about getting to know  Oudshoorn. Oudshoorn is famous for its ostriches, but it has so much more to  offer. Tour mysterious lime-stone caves, explore a crocodile farm or choose tocage-dive with sharks during your day trip to Mossel Bay.  There are plenty of opportunities to get out  and adventure this week.

Week 3: The Garden Route

High on the must-see list of visitors, this picturesque location  is a straight out of a backpacker’s dreams. The glorious natural beauty filled  with a range of topography, vegetation, wildlife and outdoor adventure occupiesa little over 200 km along the Western Cape. Explore natural parks filled with mesmerizing  systems of lakes, rivers and wetlands.  Try  out your sea legs by surfing the waves in one of the most iconic surfing  destinations in the world, Jeffrey’s bay, or choose to venture further insearch of whales. Hike along the expansive Tsitsikamma ranges or dive straight  out of the sky.  This is a weekjam-packed full of adrenalin, exploration and wonder!

Week 4: Big 5 Volunteering

A once in a lifetime chance to go behind the scenes and become  engaged in conservation efforts at one of the largest Game Reserves in South  Africa! As a volunteer, you will take part in a variety of long and short-term  projects to create sustainability for years to come. Some activities include  game monitoring, rehabilitation efforts and research with the Reserve’s  experienced staff.
