Fiji January 2014 update!

Still loving life in Fiji.  We’re making rice and flour taste nice but ration runs are always a highlight, especially when fresh fruit and veg arrives – yummy!

We’ve done with our Advanced Open Water Course and the Banta Ray makes an appearance on every dive now.  Our marine bio lessons are almost all finished too and we’re getting close to starting our surveys which will be lush.  A few of us had an amazing trip to Namena last week for Fun Dive Friday, diving with sharks, casually sitting in a huge school of triggerfish and getting along with a super chilled out turtle.  I love turtles.

Seriously frothed out, Friday night was a hilarious end to another joy week diving in Fiji.  Hannah made a pub quiz which was jokes, even though the Banta Rays lost!  Team Frothy came out on top and the all girls team, Quiz in my Pants, made a good show but just missed out on the gold (though later made up for it with plenty of Fiji Gold!)

After a heavy day of recovery on Saturday, including a well deserved brunch, we all went to Navatu on Sunday to see our families – best lunch ever!  Despite the weltering heat Evie, Emily, Min and I had a busy arvo playing with the village kids – catching them as they jumped off the kindergarten steps, avoiding their water fights and coming away with broken sun glasses and over 600 photos of Jade and Nani on our phones!

Still sunburnt, still constantly covered in sand, still having the time of our lives.
