The Best Folie Douce Trip Yet

The best Folie Douce trip yet

Read on for the latest update from our Ski Instructor Training Course:

It is safe to say that our stress levels had intensified as we came towards the business end of our BASI level 2 examinations. Although, Hen’s return definitely did help to lighten the mood, as did our BASI examiner Will, who proved to be a revelation as far as the girls in the group were concerned. Addie seemed the most engaged during the off snow sessions, with Will choosing to aid her physical demonstration of how to improve her lateral separation in her long turns. Thankfully, we all managed to pass our teaching assessment mid-week, allowing time to individually focus on our slight technical issues across the criteria range. This proved to be very helpful for when Friday rolled around and the decisions were made. Personally, I was overwhelmed with emotion that we could officially teach skiing in the mountains. It is an amazing feeling and I cannot be more thankful to everyone who has helped me improve hand-over-fist since January. I know when I say that I speak on behalf of all of us.

A hectic Folie Douce trip soon followed, basking in the sunshine and savoring our delicious and warm, 8 euro heineken beers. However, due to our celebratory spirits we couldn’t care less. We were delighted to be accompanied by ‘Mumma Sev’ and Joe on the tables for a solid 2 hours of non-stop dancing to repetitive French dub-step. We then transferred to Funderground to finally put the Ivan jar to good use and invest in some classy bubbles. Unfortunately I cannot provide a detailed de-brief of the late night frivolities that night as it all became a bit of a blur for Alex and myself when midnight struck and the vodka bottles disintegrated. Saturday was labelled recovery day in preparation for Alfie’s ‘20th’ birthday on the following Monday, however not for Addie who smashed 4 Bloody Mary’s in a quick 45 minute lunch at Braseros which did set off alarm bells but also deserved a pat on the back for her determination to beat her hangover one way or another.

The reality is dawning that we are approaching the end of what has been a very educational journey in which so many memories have been woven.
