Ecuador & Galápagos Adventure
From the lush Amazonian rainforest, to the stunning wildlife on the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador has a dazzling array of spectacles just waiting to be explored! Renowned for its vibrant culture, astonishing bio-diversity, and stunning beauty, Ecuador is one of the finest adventure travel destinations in the world.
Our Ecuador & Galápagos Adventure has been carefully planned to incorporate adventure travel, cultural exposure, and wildlife volunteering. If you’re looking for an immersive, inspiring, and unforgettable adventure travel experience, all crammed into 3-weeks, then this trip is for you.
- Volunteer at an animal rescue centre in the heart of the Amazonian rainforest
- Live and work amongst an indigenous community, savouring their culture and way of life
- Explore stunning scenery and marvel at astonishing wildlife on the world-renowned Galápagos Islands
Week 1: Animal Rescue Centre
Get face-to-face and hand-to-paw with rainforest inhabitants as you volunteer at a rescue centre for wild animals. Macaws; boas; monkeys; ocelots and even caiman crocodiles are just some of the creatures the centre works to protect and rehabilitate after abuse by the black market trade in wild animals as pets. Warning: this phase of the program may contain cute fuzzy animals!
Of all the wildlife projects Gapforce supports, the animal rescue centre is possibly one of the most unique and meaningful, and you’ll be able to make a real impact on the great work being done.
Week 2: Tamandua Jungle Experience
It’s time to venture further into the jungle with a week's stay with an indigenous community. Learn the secrets of life in the rainforest - test your marksmanship with blow pipes; be cleansed in a traditional healing ceremony; try to keep up with the locals' dance routines; and dare to go on night-time walks into jaguar territory!
Week 3: The Galápagos Islands
During your final week, you are heading off on a 5-day tour of the incredible Galápagos Islands, an archipelago of unparalleled marine biodiversity. Hike, sail and snorkel your way round the islands made famous by Charles Darwin, encountering sea lions; dolphin; turtles; sharks and more! You will then return to Quito for the final two nights of your adventure where there is a chance to explore the city and visit the Mitad del Mundo, zero degrees of latitude and longitude - the centre of the world!
