Nepal Adventure

Gapforce program

Prepare yourself for an immersive cultural and trekking experience like no other! Landlocked at the 'roof of the world', Nepal is renowned for its tiger-haunted jungles, temple lined medieval squares and some of the most dramatic yet accessible trekking in the world.

Discover Nepal's vibrant culture and stunning scenery as our group expedition takes you from the dense forests and grassy plains of Chitwan National Park to the winding mountain trails of the Annapurna base camp trek. Balancing physical challenge, cultural exposure, and meaningful volunteering, this is the ultimate Nepal experience!

Week 1: Kathmandu & Chitwan National Park

Your journey starts in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, famous for its religious monuments and stunning views of the Himalayas. A day of city exploration with your fellow travellers is the perfect way to acclimatise to the altitude before heading off to Chitwan National Park, a world heritage listed reserve and one of the best wildlife-viewing areas in Asia. Ensuring your time in Nepal starts with a splash, we will break up the journey with a spot of white-water rafting. Your time in this enchanting, little-known corner of Nepal will treat you to some unique activities, none more so than a guided jeep adventure into the jungle and a visit to a local elephant sanctuary.

Week 2: Pokhara Community Volunteering

Leaving the jungles behind we will make our way to the lakeside town of Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit and the wider Himalaya. Pokhara itself is a hub for trekking, culture, and adventure sports, making it a perfect platform on which to launch the next phase of your trip. Volunteer at a local monastery, help teach English in the village school, attend a Nepali language class, enjoy the serenity of Phewa Lake with a boat trip to Barahi Temple, marvel at Devi's Falls and visit a World Peace Pagoda. Pokhara has something for everyone!

Weeks 3 & 4: Annapurna Base Camp Trek

To bring your adventure to a fitting end, we’ve saved the best till last. You’ll end your experience on a high with a 9-day trek to Annapurna base camp, taking in stunning Himalayan views as you follow winding mountain trails draped with lines of ubiquitous prayer flags! Walking between 5- 8 hours a day, this will be a physical challenge, but with the support of our leader and your fellow travellers you can look forward to marvelling at beautiful sunrises and unforgettable panoramic views onto the Annapurna Massif! After a well-deserved shower, we will all head back to Kathmandu for a final evening in Nepal. You will be transferred back to the airport on the final day.
