This week we have a guest blog post from Charlie, who is out in Val d’Isere on our Instructor Pro course. Charlie, despite suffering from a ruptured spleen earlier in the season, has come back fighting and has just come to the end of her first week of her BASI 2. Charlie and the rest of the guys now have one more week to go of training before (fingers crossed!) they’ll be fully qualified BASI 2 instructors! Good luck Charlie!!

So after an eventful season so far due to injury and an impromptu trip to Italy to take my BASI 1, we’re at the end of our first week of BASI 2! It’s going really well and the BASI trainers have been fantastic and have been helping us out with our own skiing loads! Not only that we have also been working on our ‘central theme’. This means we can properly understand and teach beginners, as for a lot of us that was a long time ago!
The snow this week has also been fluffy and lovely, although today the chilly weather caused a few nose frost nips for the group! Anyway, after a ruptured spleen and 6 days in the Bourg St Maurice hospital, coming back to Val was the best decision ever and I can’t believe the season has gone so quick!! I’ve had the best year and my roommates are definitely going to remain my friends for life!
