Day 1

Fly to Marrakech

Fly from London to Marrakech where you will be met by your expedition leader and transferred to your accommodation.
In the early evening, you will visit to the famous Jemaa el Fna to see the street performers and enjoy a traditional welcome dinner.

Day 2

Valley of the Roses

This morning we drive through the high Atlas mountains, passing Ouarzazate then continue towards the famous Draa valley.
After a picnic lunch we continue to the land of the Ait Atta Berber tribes and your home for the next few days, Amrad village.

Day 3

Berber Village Project

We spend two days volunteering at a traditional Berber village, helping on vital projects which directly benefit the local community.
The exact project will depend on the community needs at the time but previous group projects have included school paining, house building and tree planting to combat desertification.

Day 4

Berber Village Project

Today you will complete your project work.
There will also be time for games and activities with the children which is always a huge highlight. Your leader can arrange a soccer match or artisan lesson.

Day 5

Trek

Today you will begin a two-day trek in the Atlas mountains. Supported by your Gapforce Leader and local guides you will trek through valleys and over peaks with breath-taking scenery.
You will also pass through more Berber villages and chance to stop for a refreshing mint tea!

Day 6

Trek

Your trek continues today as you slowly work your way back to Amrad where the villagers will be waiting to hear all about your adventure.
A hearty local dinner and early night are in order here as you get ready for your visit to the desert!

Day 7

Southern Desert

Today we head beyond the mountain range and deep into the desert.
Visit to a nomadic tribe to gain an understanding of their way of life, enjoy a camel ride and evening entertainment of music and dancing under the stars

Day 8

Southern Desert

Waking up in your desert camp, this morning you will enjoy a walk in the sand dunes of the Sahara desert and visit an oasis while your guide explains the eco systems that exist in this barren region.
In the afternoon you return to Amrad where your host will put on a traditional Berber dance and farewell meal

Day 9

Travel To Essaouira

Leaving the desert behind we head for the coast stopping at Ouzoud waterfalls for lunch before continuing on to Essaouira.
As we approach the coast there will also be an opportunity to stop off and see the infamous tree climbing goats!

Day 10

Essaouira

This laid back coastal city is famous for its art, sea breezes and picture postcard ramparts.
In the morning you will enjoy a guided sightseeing tour and the afternoon is free to explore the local souks or play some beach games.

Day 11

Marrakech

After breakfast we head back to Marrakech for an afternoon sightseeing in this fascinating city. Home to the Saadian tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Gardens, we visit them all.
Your final evening will be back in Jemaa el Fna for a farewell meal.

Day 12

Return Home

After breakfast, take a transfer back to the airport for return flights home
